I would pay it back asap so you don’t have to wonder about it any more. If she tells you to keep it; then it wasn’t a loan. If she accepts it; then she expected to be paid back. I’ve learned that lesson a few times:) goodluck. Sorry about the baby.

Get ready for over time work. Maybe your wife can get a job at a college that way you can go free. That is how it works I know I work at one that is how it is done. Offer to make small payments; that is all you can do.
