The first championship that changed hands since I started watching was the IC Championship. William Regal had it when I started watching and lost it to CM Punk three days later.
Don’t answer if you don’t answer the question.

I started watching wrestling in 1967. The first championship in that promotion that I SAW (rather than read about) change hands was when Ivan Koloff beat Bruno Sammartino for the WWWF World Title in 1971.
The WWWF wasn’t aired in my area, but back then, big title changes were shown on a lot of wrestling shows throughout the country and my local promotion (an NWA "territory") showed it during one of their TV shows. The NWA, the WWWF, and the AWA sometimes had World Champ vs World Champ matches at big shows so they wanted to keep everybody informed on who the three World Champs were. And the fact that Bruno had been dethroned after nearly eight straight years as WWWF Champ was BIG news to all wrestling fans.
