They want things that are clean, in working condition, and would be something that someone would actually want to buy. That means no dirty or torn clothes, no dirty dishes, no underwear, no stained or broken items, etc. I prefer to give things to Goodwill, because they use their stores to raise money to fund their programs that help people gain the skills needed to get a job, and to train people who have difficulty finding work, with no regard to what their religion may or may not be.
