Acutually it depends on the county but really if you have a love for animals then all you have to do is go to an ASPCA and fill out an application, they will provide the training. Now if you want to do something specific like be in a management or vet position well then obviously you would need those degrees. My father is actually head of Animal Control for the City of Elmira and they are hiring right now if you are close by. You need to take a civil service test as it is a government position. As I said though you don’t need a degree to be a aspca officer in NY, partly because it is a low paying job most of the time. Good luck.
1st u need to have been a cop and 2nd have a lot of luck, the aspca dont bring in a lot of officers because they dont have that kind money to have a big force. the last time i looked in to be one they only had about 10-15 of them but they was about to bring in about 20 more at the time(about 5 yrs ago) but i didnt have any police exp so i didnt bother to put in an app
The ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is a PRIVATE organization with ZERO law enforcement authority. An ASPCA officer DOES NOT EXIST.
