LGBT: Outreach questions… Specifically Central California?
Hey everyone. I’ve got a little question out there and see if it’s relevant to anyone. I’m an academic and working on a research project. I’m a lesbian from the central valley, and if your from there… you already know what I’m talking about!
Here’s the deal:
I can’t find any research/studies/pretty much any sort of validated information on the LGBT community (with particular emphasis on minority/LGBT’s of color in the area). Does anyone know of any specific groups that focus on the racial aspect of LGBT in Tulare/kings/fresno county? Anyone want to propose some of the biggest problems facing our community? What specific problems have you faced? What do you want to see done?
Thanks for the links! I’m trying to find specific references to the situation in the San Joaquin valley though. The overall research plan is to study the excluding relationships between labor/immigration rights and lgbt rights in the ultra-conservative political atmosphere.

EDIT: Assuming you’re already in central CA, try going to the local LGBT center(s) and/or groups. You may be able to get some info or leads that way.
Good luck with your project.
