i totally agree with you. many here in our country are starving, and in need of basic clothing and places to live, yet few hear their cries . i donate all i can to the Indian reservations , my sister and i gather and buy new blankets , as well as clothing and more.
The world includes everyone, not just everyone here. Why do Americans always think of themselves first.
You should fee those who need it most!
yeah it makes me sick that they explot pictures of starving children just to make a buck… non-profit my @ss!
I am most in favor of taking care of the problems here first and then helping those in other countries. The problem is that problems in other countries are more immediate. Homeless or hungry people in this country have alternatives. Those in the third world do not.
No. I wish I could help more. We are global — what happens in other parts of the world affects us, too.
I agree that we should prioritize those here first. But, I think that we can actually do both. If you’ve ever travelled outside of the country, you’ll see that the poorest american here still lives better than most of the world (in terms of food, material things etc.) It is rare for someone to really starve to death here for instance. Even if you go to bed hungry because you are homeless – someone will usually give you food or something before you get to the point of starvation.
But I agree that it is very important for us to take care or our own Americans as well and I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. I think it is a crying shame the way that we treat veterans for example; I believe that no child here should ever be hungry or not have access to health care or a decent education.
I help both why not. We are rich by comparison of some in third world countries. I donate to my own (canadians) and I have adopted a child through world vision in Guatemala. I am far from rich but instead of complaining do something.
