How do I join a church?

Im a guy and I live on my own. I dont have any friends, am very slow to warm up to people, dont really like strangers, but I have a decent interest in Christ and I would like to join a church and maybe get involved in some activities and charities and to find some friends and mentors with faith.
How do I do all that if im so shy and such a loner and not very fun at all to be around and have some slight anxiety issues and am busy a lot?

visit various churches you are welcome in all houses of the Lord if any one turns you away you know that is not the place to be, but if you feel the atmosphere, get the message, and feel the spirit that is where you need to be. After service the pastor will offer everyone an opportunity to come to the alter just walk up and join. at the new member meetings you will get to know more people, new people and I am sure you will grow to love your new church home. Oh yeah, ask God to help you on your way.
You should try asking the preist in the Church about that.
I agree with Naomi. Pray and ask God to help you find the place he wants you to be and for the courage to show up. You will know when you are in the right place. Don’t get discouraged and don’t give up!
How do you do it? Get in your car and go! And by the way, don’t be so down on yourself!
