Did you think your college was greedy?

I think mine is, they’re a famous college that sells millions of dollars in merchandise, has a top football team, top athletics in general, has the newest and best of everything, gets millions in endowments every year, yet still sends me letters begging me for money at least 10x a year.
It’s UMich, by the way.
Isn’t it ridiculous? They care more about the money than they do about the students. My old high school needed the money more and they never ask me for it.

Many colleges are accepting more students now, viewing them as lottery tickets, hoping that one will become really successful and will donate large sums of money to the college.
Most private (albeit non-profit) colleges have vast "alumni relations" departments who specialize at raising money for schools.
Some elite/private high schools do so as well, and public high schools only do so to a small extent (they’re publicly funded anyway, so large donations might reduce public funding)
I went to Ga Tech. They ask me for money on a regular basis…but I remember back to all of the good stuff I did when I was in school that was paid for by alumni contributions and I think it’s worth paying it back. I went on a vocal tour to California on money from the alum assoc., participated in lots of clubs and saw freebie movies every week.
Nope.
My fee every sem less than RM500 but other universities they more than RM1000. It is because most of the expenditure is under MARA. They spent amount of money for our hostel fee, foods and so on… hehehe… i’m so lucky.
