My 93 MPV was smock checked and paid registration for next year, which starts 12/21. But a few days after I did that, the car broke down, I decide that it’s not worth to spend money on fixing it
anymore, and I’m going to donate it. Can I get the registration fee
back from DMV? I know I probably should ask DMV, but you all know how hard it is to communicate with DMV, unless you physically go there and wait in line for hours:-)

The car needs a transmission and it won’t run utnil that’s fixed. Everything else is in good condition and it has less than 100k on it I just need to get the car off of my hands. Will they still take it? Will they come pick it up? How does it work on your taxes as far as a deduction is concerned? Any good charities out there?
