Canceled postage stamps as charity fundraiser - who purchases them in bulk?

For years, I used to collect used (i.e. posted) postage stamps, cut them off the envelopes and send them to an animal shelter. They turned them over to a member who sent them somewhere (that’s the question WHERE???), and in return received cash donated to the shelter. The member passed away, and no one knows how to rekindle the postage for pups program.

Can someone tell me specifically an address or organization that pays $$ for canceled postage stamps?
